The Snowy Owl (Nyctea scandiaca) is an arctic nesting species that comes south into southern Canada and the northern United States during some winters. All the shots here were taken at Churchill, Manitoba. This immature bird was photographed in November, 1998 with a Canon EOS 1N & EF 300mm F2.8 lens with a 2X extender. Also see below shots.
