The Eastern Towhee (Pipilo erythrophthalmus) is a resident of the eastern half of the United States. It withdraws southward from some of the more northern areas, but may be found all year over much of its range. The first 4 images of a male on this page were taken in the George Washington National Forest in Bath Co., Virginia, in June, 2010, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 800mm F/4 L IS lens. | |
