| The Black-headed Grosbeak (Pheucticus melanocephalus) breeds across the western United States as well as south west Canada. Its loud and conspicuous song is a familiar sound to those living within its breeding areas. The first two shots here are of a male at Coyote Creek State Park, Mora Co., New Mexico, in June, 2007.
