Ash-throated Flycatcher
Myiarchus cinerascens
The Ash-throated Flycatcher (Myiarchus cinerascens) breeds across much of the western United States and winters mainly in Mexico. The first three shots were taken in the Davis Mountains, Jeff Davis Co., Texas, in June, 2005, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
The Ash-throated Flycatcher on the right was near Edinburg, Hidalgo Co., Texas, in April, 2006. This shot was taken with the same gear described above.
The next 6 images of Ash-throated Flycatchers were taken in Big Bend National Park, Brewster Co., Texas, in May, 2010, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 800mm F/5.6 L IS lens.
