Red-veined Dropwing
Trithemas arteriosa
The Red-veined Dropwing (Trithemas arteriosa) is an abundant and widespread dragonfly across its range which includes much of Africa, the Mediterranean area, and parts of the Middle East. The images on this page were taken near Nylsvley, Limpopo Province, South Africa in January, 2006. All shots were with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender with a 580 flash.
