| The Epaulet Skimmer (Orthetrum chrysostigma) is a widespread dragonfly occurring from Europe, Asia, and the Middle East southward through Africa. The shots of several males (bottom shot shows a less mature individual) shown here were taken along the Olifantspruit River near Nylstroom, Limpopo Province, South Africa, in January, 2006, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash. |  |
