Bobolink
Dolichonyx oryzivorus
The Bobolink (Dolichonyx oryzivorus) is a breeder in meadows, hay fields and prairies across parts of the northern half of the United States and parts of southern Canada. Its song may be a common sound in these habitats in spring and summer. The male Bobolink in the first 10 images on this page was singing in prairie habitat at Medicine Lake N.W.R., Sheridan Co., Montana, in June, 2007. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and sometimes a 1.4 or 2X extender.
