Black-throated Gray Warbler
Setophaga nigrescens
The Black-throated Gray Warbler (Setophaga nigrescens) is essentially a breeder of parts of the western third of the United States and parts of southwestern Canada. It winters in a few spots in the southwestern U.S. as well as much of Mexico, southward occasionally to Costa Rica. The territorial male birds shown in the next 10 images shown here were in Crouse Canyon, Daggett Co., Utah, in June, 2007. These images were all taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
The singing male Black-throated Gray Warbler shown here was on Mt. Lemon, Tucson, Pima Co., Arizona, in May, 2008. This shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
