The Arctic Warbler (Phylloscopus borealis) nests across much of western Alaska and across the Bering Sea in parts of Siberia. It is a member of the old world family Phylloscopidae and not closely related to our new world wood warblers despite its common name. Its dry trill becomes a familiar vocalization when you are in an area where the species is common. The four shots on this page were taken along the Denali Highway in Alaska in June, 2012, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
