| The Whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus) is a shorebird which nests in the Arctic tundra and winters in wetlands along the coasts of the southern U.S. south into South America. The first shot shown here shows a Whimbrel near its nest in Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, in June, 1988. The next two shots show a spring migrant at Fort Myers, Lee Co., Florida, in April, 1996. These 3 shots are scanned slides and I do not have the original photo information for any of these. |
