| The Snowy Plover (Charadrius nivosus) is a small shorebird which nests on dry, barren patches of beaches, alkali playas and lake edges. It winters along the Gulf coast as well as the Pacific coast. The Snowy Plover shown here was resting on the beach at Quintana, Brazoria Co., Texas, in October, 1998. The shot was taken with a Canon EOS 1N and EF 300mm F/2.8 L lens and 2X extender on Fuji Sensia. |  |
