| The Northern Pintail (Anas acuta) is a widespread duck across all of North America. In general it breeds across much of the northern United States and all of Canada, and winters along both coasts and much of the southern U.S. and Mexico. The male shown at right was a recent arrival at a wintering area at Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in November, 2005.
