The Spot-tailed Dasher (Micrathyria aequalis) is a fairly small dragonfly of extreme southern Texas and Florida. Outside of the U.S., however, it ranges southward to South America The male shown here in the top 2 shots, was photographed in Hidalgo Co., Texas in October, 2003. Both shots were taken with a Canon EOS 10D and 70-200 mm F2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender and 550 EX flash. | |
