The *Interior Least Clubtail (Stylogomphus sigmastylus)* is a small clubtail species of flowing streams in parts of the south central and south eastern United States in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Kentucky and Tennessee. Until 2005 this species was lumped with the more widespread Eastern Least Clubtail (S. albistylus) which is very similar in appearance. Males are sometimes found perched on rocks with flowing water all around them, but occasionally perched on vegetation. Females are apparently seldom seen and rarely photographed. The first 4 shots of 2 different female Interior Least Clubtails on this page were taken along the Fourche Renault Creek, Washington Co., Missouri, in June, 2009, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and 580 flash. We did not encounter any males on this occasion.
