Dusky Dancer

The Dusky Dancer (Argia translata) is a widespread damselfly of rivers and streams across much of the U.S. The first 2 photos here, of a male and female, were digital captures with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 300 mm F4 L IS lens with a 1.4 extender and 550 EX flash. Both shots were taken in Travis Co., Texas in May, 2003.
The shot at right was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark II and EF 180mm F/3.5 Macro and 1.4X extender and 580EX flash in May, 2005 in Utopia, Uvalde Co., Texas.
The female Dusky Dancer shown here was in Austin, Travis Co., Texas, in June, 2008. This image was taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
