The Cherokee Clubtail (Gomphus consanguis) occupies a very small range in the eastern United Stares in a narrow band from northen Alabama north and east through parts of nw Georgia and into Tennessee, North Carolina and parts of Virginia. It inhabits streams with silty bottoms and may be quite uncommon within its small range. The first nine images of male Cherokee Clubtails on this page were taken along Tiger Creek in Catoosa Co., Georgia, in May, 2011, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
