The Brush-tipped Emerald (Somatochlora walshii) is an uncommon small emerald of southern Canada and the northern United States. The first 3 shots on this page were taken at Tamarack Swamp, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, in June, 2010. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender and Canon 580 flash.
The female Brush-tipped Emerald on the right and the male in the next shot were both netted in Roseau Co., Minnesota, in July, 2011.
