The Blackwater Bluet (Enallagma weewa) is a species of dark and shady swamp areas of the eastern United States. Although perhaps more commonly found in the southeast, it ranges north to southern New England. It is a very slender bluet and seems to float up from vegetation in a slow and deliberate manner. The male in the first two shots on this page was in Cheraw State Park, Chesterfield Co., South Carolina, in May, 2012. These shots were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and a Sigma 50-500mm lens and Canon 580 flash.
