Ashy Clubtail
Gomphus lividus
The Ashy Clubtail (Gomphus lividus) is a widespread dragonfly of the eastern United States occurring west to east Texas. The first two shots on this page were digital captures with a Canon 10D and EF 70-200 F/2.8 L IS lens and 2X extender and 550 EX flash in the Sam Houston National Forest, San Jacinto Co., Texas in early April, 2004.
The Ashy Clubtails in the next 3 shots (first 2 shots female, 3rd shot male) were along Indian Creek in Jasper Co., Texas, in March, 2008. These images were taken with a Canon EOS 1D Mark III and EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender.
The male Ashy Clubtail shown here was in the Sam Houston Forest, San Jacinto Co., Texas, in March, 2008. This image was taken with the same gear as described previously.
