The Alkali Bluet (Enallagma clausum) is a damselfly of the Northwest, the Midwest and the Great Plains where it is often associated with saline lakes. The female Alkali Bluet shown here was along the Snake River at Massacre Rocks State Park, Power Co., Idaho, in July, 2008. The same gear as previously described was used to take this image.
The next 17 images of Alkali Bluet were taken near the edge of Walker Lake in Mineral Co., Nevada, in August, 2012, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 300mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4 extender and 580 flash. On the right is a male.
