The Gray Hawk (Buteo nitidus) is essentially a species of South and Central America which barely enters the United States in Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona. It can be regularly found at a few spots in Texas and Arizona. The soaring adult here was photographed in April, 2003, in Patagonia, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona, with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender. | |
