Heliodoxa jacula
The Green-crowned Brilliant (Heliodoxa jacula) occurs from the Caribbean slope of Costa Rica southward into Ecuador. Shown here is a male and to next are two shots of females. These were photographed in October, 1995, at Chacons, 15 km SSE of Tres de Junio, Provincia de San Jose, Costa Rica. A Canon T-90 and FD 400mm F4.5 lens from a BushHawk shoulder mount with a Fresnel flash and Fuji Sensia 100 film was used.
