The populations have intermediate plumage in many areas. The singing bird shown here was in Glacier National Park, Glacier Co., Montana, in June, 2001. It was photographed with a Canon EOS 3 and EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 2X extender on Fuji Velvia.
The next five shots of Fox Sparrows were taken near Nome, Alaska, in June, 2012, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
The next three images of Fox Sparrows were taken at Kincaid Park, Anchorage, Alaska, in June, 2012, with a Canon EOS 1D Mark IV and an EF 500mm F/4 L IS lens and 1.4X extender.
