The Broad-billed Hummingbird (Cynanthus latirostris) occurs across much of Mexico and the southwestern United States. The first two shots on this page were taken in April, 2003, in Patagonia, Santa Cruz Co., Arizona. These are digital shots taken with a Canon EOS 10D and EF 600mm F/4 L IS lens with a 1.4X extender.
Broad-billed Hummingbirds are rare visitors to Texas, typically in the winter. The male in the next two shots was in Sinton, San Patricio Co, Texas, in February, 1993. These two shots were both taken on Fuji film.
The female Broad-billed Hummingbird on the right was near Inks Lake, Llano Co., Texas, in December, 1993.
